Parental Guidance

This is not a tutoring service, but rather a networking tool. By signing up your child for tutoring, you will be contacted by an adult volunteer. Anyone can sign up to be a volunteer tutor. Volunteer tutors are not vetted in any way. We do not perform background checks, nor do we ask for references or check qualifications. We do not verify that volunteers live in Madison or are using their real name. We make no guarantees about the behavior of any volunteer who fills a tutoring request. Consider this service like a sign-up sheet posted on a telephone pole or facebook page. In fact, consider our terms of use much the same as what you would find on twitter or facebook. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure their child is safe when using this website to find volunteer tutors. Use the sign-up forms on this website at your (and your childs) own risk.​
For the safety of your children, parents should be present to monitor all tutoring sessions. Do not allow your child to share personal or contact information with any volunteer tutors. Do not have your child meet with tutors in person. Do not have your child meet with volunteers for non-academic reasons. Any email contact with volunteer tutors should be done by parents, not students. All names and contact info submitted on the sign-up form will be visible to all volunteer tutors. By using the Tutoring Sign-Up Form, you agree that MMSD Volunteer Tutor Connection cannot be held liable for the behavior of any volunteer tutors that contact you as a result of using this website.
